2/3 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg
1/4 c dk molasses
2 c flour
1 t salt
1 t soda
1 t cinnamon
1 t ginger
1 t cloves

Cream shortening & sugar; add egg & molasses; beat well. Add dry ingredients & mix thoroughly. Roll 1/8" thick on lightly floured surface. Cut out.

Bake 350 for 5-6 mins
