14-16 oz. shaved steaks (i.e. Quaker/Steak-Umms
8-10 oz. fresh mushrooms
1 med. onion, sliced
2 cubes/teaspoons beef bouillon
1 c. hot water
2 T. cocktail sauce/bbq sauce/chili sauce
1 t. mustard
2 1/2 T. flour
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. lite sour cream
salt & pepper to taste
In large fry pan, cook steak, mushrooms and onions till golden brown. Add bouillon, water, tomato-type sauce and mustard. Cover and simmer 15-30 minutes. Combine flour and water. Stir into meat mixture. Cook, stirring constantly till mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat; stir in sour cream. Heat, but do not boil. Serve over noodles.

I use 16 oz of mushrooms and add 1 t. worcestershire sauce. I also used eye of round steaks, slightly frozen and cut on the diagonal. Delicious with cocktail sauce this time. Left by: MOM (8 Jun 2015)
I last made this recipe with real steak and insteaqd of one of the red/brown sauces, i used four! (bbq, cocktail, ketchup, worces...whatever that one is) instead of flour, i only had cornstarch, and it turned out GREAT! oh, i also used chicken bouillon instead of beef!
